It’s the last official weekend of summer for our Westerville kiddos (bless those teachers) and to celebrate, the merchants of Uptown Westerville, along with the fine folks at Parks and Rec, the Arts Council, the CVB and the Chamber, have partnered to present Rock the ‘Ville.
Part of Westerville’s “Year of the Arts,” Rock the ‘Ville will be held this Saturday, August 10 from 12-8pm. There will be music, visual arts, storytelling, fashion, interactive chalk and sand art activities, dance and a whole host of other fun things for folks of all ages to enjoy. State Street is going to be hoppin’!
At 38 North State Street, we’ll be adding our own flair to the afternoon, as we will be hosting special performances from the students of Westerville’s own Columbus Music Academy (CMA). This is a great opportunity to come out and support aspiring musicians from our local community. Of special note is the New Horizons Ensemble, a group of active retirees who are rekindling their love of music with lessons and performances through CMA.
The schedule of performers is:
12:00pm String Ensemble
12:30pm Saxophone Duo by Jay Miglia and Wes Miller of the Black Swamp Saxophone Quartet
1:15pm New Horizons String Ensemble
2:00 Edward Liu, classical guitar
3:00 Youth Jazz Ensemble
4:00 Cameron Harrison, Classical & Jazz Guitarist
5:30pm CMA Jazz Ensemble
Events like Rock the ‘Ville are part of what makes Uptown Westerville such a special and unique home for Amish Originals. We hope you can come out and join us this weekend to enjoy Uptown at it’s very best!
